Label Tape Export

The label tape export feature generates a 360 DPI PNG for Brother, Epson, or compatible label printers. Printer apps and hardware margins can resize imported images, so the printed reference gap must be measured before fitting the tape.

How to Export

  1. Generate your tape as normal.
  2. Click Download / print tape below the tape preview.
  3. Select the sight mechanism. Straight rails use three calibration marks; wheels, spools and cams use five.
  4. Measure every sight position from the same zero mark. A millimetre ruler is supported; calipers are optional.
  5. Enter the finished sight-tape width separately from the 12mm, 18mm or 24mm printer cassette width.
  6. Download the recommended PDF or the label-printer PNG.

Ruler calibration: The measured sight travel must be at least 30mm. If it is shorter, use a wider distance range, use calipers, or follow the sight maker’s official tape process. A field calibration is an estimated starting point and must be verified at the range.

Printing

Open the PNG in your label printer's software (e.g., Brother P-touch Editor, Brother iPrint&Label). Set the print size to actual size / 100% — do not scale or "fit to label". The cassette width is only the media size; the dashed cut line shows the separate finished sight-tape width. Measure the reference gap on the test print with a ruler. If it differs from the stated value, enter the measured millimetres in the generator, apply the correction, and print once more.

Note: Web browsers cannot print directly to label printers via Bluetooth or USB. You need to open the downloaded PNG in the printer's own software on your computer or phone to print it.

Label Sizes

Tip: Use clear laminated labels for a clean look that blends with the sight, or white labels for maximum readability in low-light conditions.
